Met Dave and Stewart (not Dave Stewart) in London last night for some shandy action. Both were on good form and Dave announed that he is to become a father in September......good work, fella!! Topics of discussion included Fantasy Cricket (naturally......I was in a good mood after David Hussey had smashed 275 for my team earlier in the day) and the use of disabled toilets. I was grumbling at the number of 'able bodied' women who use the disabled toilets at work. By coincidence, Scott emailed Stewart and I today to tell us that, having made use of one of the disabled toilets at Pfizer, he was greeted on his way out by a women in a wheelchair. Apparently if looks could kill then the next time Stewart and I play snooker we'd be playing for the Scott Lattimer memorial trophy.
Jadine was fired by SAS in this week's episode of 'The Apprentice'. My original prediction of the last four being Jadine, Naomi, Lohit and Simon now needs to be revised. In a change from the usual format I'm backing Nick Hewer to enter the contest and make the final four.
Worked from home today as the MFI fitter has been putting the final touches to our new bedroom. I'd previously thought that I wouldn't have the discipline to work at home but at 7am I found myself logging on. I'm enjoying programming whilst listening to Test Match Special......may have to make working from home a habit.

Now you're talking. Disabled loos. One of my pet hobby horses!
I use disabled loos all the time and am totally unrepentant. It's never happened to me but I would also be unrepantant if there was a disabled person waiting when I came out.. er.. I think.
I think there is a little misunderstanding here. People sometimes believe that "Disabled" toilets are toilets that are RESERVED for disabled people. This is very odd. It's like saying that only disabled people can use the ramp that some banks have up to their premises. Some banks ONLY have a ramp. Does this mean that the bank are ONLY expecting to serve disabled people? Course not. Anyone can use a ramp, but only some people can use steps. Therefore a ramp is preferable and designed to be used by all.
It's absurd to think that Disabled toilets are ONLY for disabled people. They contain facilities that enable disabled people to easily use them, and I think that's totally great. But it's daft to have an expensive toilet built that only gets used once in a blue moon.
If there did happen to be someone waiting then that would be fine too. Waiting for a loo to be free is just one of the colours of life in the UK. I sometimes have to wait for the loo. I don't see why able bodied people and and disabled alike should both face this trial with equal patience and strength of character. I'm sure 5 minutes does seem like a lifetime when one is waiting for the loo, but worse things surely happen at sea.
Course I use disabled toilets, and why shouldn't they be for men and women.
Hope I haven't upset anyone.
